12/25/08 Lost in a day dream, Old photos and memories, And times that were sweet. Consumed by this longing, For loving or liquor, Each one soothes my pain. You know you still hurt me, Sneak up from behind me, Don’t bother to change. Too late for forgiveness, Now nothing can stop this, From going down hill. Under your blankets, Are the secrets you hide, The ones you keep from me, The ones you deny. From my arms you’ve slipped, You’re lost in your lies, Only a hint of love, Can be found in your eyes. Our story’s betrayed us, Backstabbed and encaged us, We’re now trapped inside. We’re kicking and screaming, We’re begging and pleading, Yet no one draws near. Through labyrinths explore, We’re trying to search for, The cure to our hurt. But band-aid’s small healing, Won’t hold up such wounding, You left along with these tears. And here ends the fantasy, Of “Happily Ever After” Those feelings of ecstasy, Left when I lost her.
