The knowing simplicity of a familiar person resting beside me as the day breaks anew.
A warm safety found in the same brown eyes squinting back silently saying, “I love you.”
Never having to ask or wonder, “where were you last tonight?”
Knowing without a doubt that when my hand falls to the side, hers will be there, without fail.
A kiss perched on every smile that greets my sleepy head a good morning.
Understanding perfectly that her embrace is the one I'll desire again and again and always.
Finding laughter in response to the fear of losing her companionship.
Truly and completely feeling seen on every human level that matters.
Sitting in silence, thirsty for the next sip of a second spent beside her.
A warmhearted hug between every look shared together.
These are the soundless luxuries of our well tempered love.
