2/22/12 - Another Poem I awoke today, like yesterday, To a new day. Tonight arrived fresh, a stranger I’ve grown to expect. And I think it’s safe to say an unknown Tomorrow is on the way. It’s nothing new, not to you and me, As we spin uncontrollably into and Out of the Sun’s steady light. The moments of darkness strobe, Just as our eyes blink to reopen on A new moment in time. It gets old, and we forget There’s no novelty in the ageless Rotation of this planet Earth. Today is not unique save My undetermined course of action. So this is not a new poem, just another. Tomorrow’s not a new day, it’s just another. The day is easier to seize if it never leaves me; I greet it with a familiar smile and we talk As companions- as brothers. We laugh because we know the truth- That hope doesn’t rise with the Sun, It comes when I rise to meet it.
