A day after my birthday, 34 years now.
Is time alive an accomplishment?
Evolutionarily it only counts if I reproduce,
or maybe help others pass on their genes.
Individual time doesn't mark much
for the history or future of mankind.
For humanity though, we can impact
the lives of others greatly through
innovation, compassion, technology, etc.
I wonder what my ultimate legacy will entail.
A few laughs and smiles here and there.
No empire to speak of, only love of my fellow man
and a zeal for other people's works of art.
I suspect I'll slip away from history
like most average humans, never to
have their stories told again once
time replaces them in this world.
I'm okay with that.
Seems fitting my story matches that
of most souls lost in a universe we
never planned on living in to begin with.
