5/4/2013 By nature, Life has only one way to fail, And that is death. To be alive is to succeed; Life and reality don’t bend to the mind’s expectations, And so neither should humanity. Even in its worst moments, Life moves forward, which is just to say we have no control over its passing. Accept this and be free from needless suffering. My fingers itch to write but my ears steal their attention; Music vibrates the air around me until my feet kick the beat And my mind departs this reality’s unflinching procession. Somewhere between the frequencies and tempo, Life’s rigid solidarity melts to reveal a plane of abstract anarchy. Every song unfolds nonsensical images, passions, and stories That accrete into massive worlds of emotion, memory, and desire. It’s a primitive language, an abstract and vague medium That conveys only subjective emotional meaning; Perhaps a prerequisite to intelligent speech, A prototype for social expression of internal experience.
