Inspiration spread thin
I'm spread out in bed again
spreading ink out onto paper.
Words tumbling over themselves,
no rhyme or reason
just a slew of nonsense
cascades forth in my mind.
My dharma wheel necklace dangling
around my neck, I should meditate.
And now some words
to fill the next line.
What am I doing?
Here I am, writing a poem for no one.
Par for the course.
My antics and quips will fall on deaf ears
as time and time again they do.
Maybe I'll befriend the idea of “no one”
and spend my time catching up on
all the things I'll never do.
At least then I'd have one friend.

“a slew of nonsense”… I’m hearing that! Great poem, Linda :)
